Colombia
For Colombian citizens, the following must be taken into account:
- There is the Agreement on Reciprocal Recognition and Issuance of Driver's Licenses by Equivalence, signed on October 27, 2022.
- The licenses issued by the Republic of Colombia authorize driving up to a period of 180 continuous or discontinuous days of stay in the same calendar year.
- When driving, Colombian citizens must have a license issued by a competent authority of the Republic of Colombia; Citizenship Card, Identity Card, Foreign Identification Card or passport; be within the period of 180 days since you entered the country.
Likewise, the following will be required, as established in article 40 of National Law No. 24,449:
- Documentation related to the Automotive Identification;
- Bring proof of current insurance;
- That the vehicle, including trailers and semi-trailers, have the domain identification plates placed;
- That it has a fire extinguisher and portable beacons;
- That the number of occupants is related to the capacity of the vehicle;
- That children under 10 years of age travel in the back seat;
- That it has the original security systems in good working order,
- That, in the case of a motorcycle, its occupants wear helmets and if it does not have a windshield, its driver wears glasses;
- That its occupants use the safety belts in the vehicles (seat belt).
