Guillermo Francos attended a meeting with CONICET’s board

Its objective was to evaluate the organization's situation and coordinate a work program

The Chief of Staff Guillermo Francos, alongside Secretary of Innovation, Science, and Technology Darío Genua, participated in the Board meeting of the National Scientific and Technical Research Council (CONICET), chaired by Daniel Salamone. During the meeting, the authorities assessed the current status of the organization and agreed to establish a work plan with regular follow-up meetings to address various strategic and agenda-related matters.

After concluding the meeting, Francos remarked, 'It was a very positive meeting with the CONICET board, where we evaluated the current situation of the organization and committed to coordinating a work program with ongoing meetings.”

“It is very important to have the Chief of Staff present at this Board meeting. Our commitment is to promote quality science, innovation, and technology to strengthen the national scientific and technological ecosystem,” Genua affirmed.

"In a country like ours, we must work together and provide concrete solutions to the population's problems, translating scientific work from the laboratory into impactful results. We need to develop innovative products and solutions that enhance people's quality of life, contribute to the country's development with new technologies, and, obviously, generate income," detailed Salamone, who, along with the Board of Directors, highlighted the meeting as "very positive."

During the meeting, representatives from various fields of knowledge presented current research lines and the specific needs of each area. Additionally, the Board members discussed the importance of decentralizing science as a key strategy for achieving its development nationwide, as well as the necessity of generating innovative and concrete solutions to meet the demands of productive and social sectors.

Attending the meeting, held at the Scientific and Technological Pole of the City of Buenos Aires, were Claudia Capurro, Vice President of Scientific Affairs; Alberto Baruj, Vice President of Technological Affairs; and members of the Council: Roberto Rivarola for the Large Area of Exact and Natural Sciences; Mario Pecheny for the Large Area of Social Sciences and Humanities; Laura Correa representing Industry; Manuel García Solá representing Agriculture; Luz Lardone representing Provincial and Buenos Aires City science and technology agencies; and Jorge Aliaga representing the Council of Universities. Additionally, Alicia Caballero, President of the R&D+i Agency, was present.
