The Government signed agreements for the transfer of public works with Entre Ríos, Jujuy, and Chaco

The Chief of Staff met with the governors of these provinces to sign the transfer of 80 public works.

The Chief of Staff, Guillermo Francos, and the Secretary of Interior, Lisandro Catalán, held a series of meetings today at Casa Rosada with the governors of Jujuy, Carlos Sadir; Entre Ríos, Rogelio Frigerio; and Chaco, Leandro Zdero; during which various agreements were signed for the transfer of 80 public works from the Nation to the provinces.

Following the signing, Guillermo Francos stated: 'In a joint effort with the Ministry of Economy, the Secretariat of Public Works, and the governors, we agreed to distribute responsibilities regarding the continuation of certain works. Some will continue under the responsibility of the National Government, while others will fall under the jurisdiction of the provinces.

For the Government, the autonomy and responsibility of the provincial states are central aspects. It's a campaign commitment made by President Javier Milei, which we have been discussing with provincial leaders in recent months," detailed the Chief of Staff.

Through the signing of these agreements, which also involved the Secretary of Public Works, Luis Giovine, the Secretary of Provinces and Municipalities, Javier Milano, and the head of ENOHSA, Bartolomé Heredia; each province commits to assuming the financing or execution of the works detailed in the agreement. Among those transferred, the construction of Child Development Centers (CDIs), completion of hospitals, hydraulic works, sanitation and urban improvement, roads and highways, among others, stand out.

The aforementioned agreements for the transfer of works are the first to be signed between the national government and provincial administrations, amidst a situation of public and fiscal emergency the country is facing. The agreements establish a framework for the distribution of financial and execution responsibilities between the Nation and the provinces, with the aim of optimizing the management and development of public works that are currently underway.

"It's important that provinces take responsibility for the works being carried out within their territory," stated Francos. "For a long time, we accepted the unitary management of the State as a whole, where each jurisdiction depended on requests made to the National Government. Today, we are embarking on the path towards a truly federal system," he concluded.
