Sobre la Bolsa de Comercio

La Bolsa de Comercio de Buenos Aires (BCBA) fue fundada el 10 de julio de 1854, casi a la par de la sanción de la Constitución Nacional Argentina.

Es la mayor bolsa de valores y principal centro de negocios y finanzas de la República Argentina

El palacio de la calle Sarmiento 299 -ideado por el arquitecto Alejandro Christophersen- hoy podría considerarse como un espacio vivo de nuestra cultura.

En los comienzos de la obra del edificio, estalló la Primera Guerra Mundial pero, asimismo, fue inaugurado el 12 de julio de 1916 con materiales traídos de Europa y Estados Unidos, en estilo Luis XVI (Beaux-Arts), con fachadas revestidas en símil piedra París. La entrada principal de la BCBA acompañó el desarrollo de la city porteña y se convirtió en una postal clásica del centro financiero de la Ciudad.

En cada vértice interno de la nave central del edificio se aprecian esculturas en mármol de Carrara del Siglo XIX. Las obras representan “Las cuatro estaciones”.

En el primer piso, se observa el tapiz de Bruselas titulado “Europa”. Forma parte de una colección de cuatro obras. Este ejemplar es el único que se encuentra fuera del Viejo Mundo.

Christophersen se ocupó de cada detalle de esta construcción de estilo clásico y académico con detalles de época de gran lujo en el interior.

Es un lugar forma parte de la historia política, económica y cultural del país.

About the Buenos Aires Stock Exchange

The Buenos Aires Stock Exchange (BCBA) was founded on July 10, 1854, shortly after the enactment of the Argentine National Constitution.

It is the largest stock exchange and the main hub for business and finance in Argentina.

The palace located at 299 Sarmiento Street, designed by architect Alejandro Christophersen, can be considered a living testament to Argentine culture.

Construction of the building began during the outbreak of World War I, but it was inaugurated on July 12, 1916, featuring materials imported from Europe and the United States. The building is designed in the Louis XVI (Beaux-Arts) style, with facades clad in faux Paris stone. The main entrance of the BCBA has witnessed the development of Buenos Aires' financial district and has become an iconic image of the city's financial center.

Inside the central hall, sculptures made from 19th-century Carrara marble can be found at each corner. These works represent "The Four Seasons."

On the first floor, there is a Brussels tapestry titled "Europe." It is part of a collection of four works, with this piece being the only one located outside of Europe.

Christophersen paid meticulous attention to every detail of this classical and academic-style building, which boasts luxurious interior features typical of its era.

This venue is a symbol of Argentina’s political, economic, and cultural history.
