The national government sent two Hercules planes with food and assistance to Santa Cruz and Chubut.
From El Palomar Airport, a plane took off to Santa Cruz with food and blankets.
The flight adds to the one sent days ago to Chubut, which is also experiencing extreme temperatures, as well as to the trucks with similar cargo directed to Neuquén and Río Negro. Additionally, two National Treasury Contributions (ATN) totaling six billion pesos were transferred.
The national government, through coordinated work between the Deputy Chief of Cabinet, the Ministries of Defense, and Human Capital, deployed a Hercules C-130 plane to Santa Cruz during the most severe storm in the last 60 years. The aircraft, which departed from El Palomar, is transporting food and blankets to provide assistance to face the low temperatures.
During the loading, the Deputy Chief of Cabinet, Lisandro Catalán; the Ministers of Defense and Human Capital, Luis Petri and Sandra Pettovello; and the governor of the province of Santa Cruz, Claudio Vidal, were present, accompanied by authorities from the Air Force and the Joint Chiefs of Staff. This flight adds to the one sent days ago to Chubut with a similar cargo, as well as to the trucks sent to Neuquén and Río Negro with warm clothing, shoes, blankets, and rolls of nylon. In this way, the national government intensifies its efforts to assist the regions affected by heavy snowfall and extreme cold.
Similarly, in line with the government's policy of providing assistance during emergencies, the Deputy Chief of Cabinet of the Interior approved two National Treasury Contributions (ATNs) for the provinces of Santa Cruz and Chubut, totaling three billion pesos each. The ministry also coordinated an operation for winter assistance and maintenance of national and provincial roads in both jurisdictions to ensure safe circulation, connectivity, and supply to the main towns.
