The national government moves forward with the auction of properties seized in corruption, human trafficking, and drug trafficking cases

In the coming weeks, the national government will take another step in the fight against corruption and drug trafficking by auctioning four iconic properties linked to the "Aliaga Clan" and "Notebook" cases, with starting prices ranging from USD $150,000 to over $900,000.

The national government, through the State Asset Administration Agency (AABE), is moving forward with the process of selling, via public auction, a series of properties seized by the judiciary in the context of corruption, human trafficking, and drug trafficking cases. In the coming weeks, four iconic properties linked to the "Aliaga Clan" and "Notebook" cases will be auctioned.

First, the agency will hold an auction on Wednesday, November 6th at 2:00 PM for a duplex located at Bacacay Street 3591 (CABA), seized in the "Aliaga Clan" case, which is related to a serious human trafficking case. With a starting price of USD $150,415, the 177 m² property consists of three floors; a garage; living room and dining room; a full bathroom and a half-bath; kitchen; patio and terrace; and three bedrooms.

Furthermore, AABE (Argentine Agency for Asset Management) will hold an auction next Tuesday, November 26 at 2:00 PM for the property located at 4675 Cajaravilla Street in Villa Luro, a neighborhood of Buenos Aires. This property, with a land area of 488.96 m2 and a total built area of 345.79 m2, has a starting price of USD $228,676 and it features a house with a main entrance and garage, a living room, a kitchen, a distribution hallway, two bedrooms, and a bathroom. Additionally, there is access from both the kitchen and the garage to a patio, which forms the second part of the property: an uncovered distribution corridor leading to several rooms. Toward the back of the lot, there are two bathrooms, a shower, a large workshop, and a staircase leading to the terrace.

According to the investigation into the "Aliaga Clan", 34 Bolivian men and women, along with their children – all minors – were subjected to conditions of forced labor. With workdays lasting 17 hours, the victims lived and worked in overcrowded conditions.

On the other hand, the agency will hold a public auction on Friday, November 29 at 10:00 AM for a property located at 5761/63/65/67/69 Dr. Pedro Ignacio Rivera Street (Villa Urquiza, C.A.B.A), which was seized by the judiciary as part of the case known as "Cuadernos". This case involves an investigation into the former private secretary and presidential advisor to Néstor and Cristina Kirchner, Daniel Muñoz, and his circle, who are accused of engaging in money laundering operations.

With a starting price of USD $734,215.50, the property consists of a ground floor, two upper floors, and an attic, covering a land area of 690.33 m2 and a total built area of 1,245.56 m2. The property belonged to Daniel Muñoz and Víctor Manzanares, a long-time accountant for the Kirchner family.

The property has three entrances: 5769, which leads to a two-level parking area; 5767, which provides access to four offices; and 5761, which gives access to three apartments. This was where Muñoz’s offices were located, from where bags and backpacks filled with money were sent to financial institutions that transferred it abroad. Additionally, Muñoz kept his car collection at this property.

As part of the assets seized in the context of the "Cuadernos" case, a single-family house located at 3744/46 Salvador María del Carril Avenue in the Villa Devoto neighborhood of Buenos Aires will be auctioned on Friday, December 6 at 10:00 AM. The property has a land area of 388.30 m2 and a total built area of 639.69 m2.

The property has four floors, a barbecue area, a gym, a sauna, and parking spaces, with a starting price of USD $926,263. This property, which was listed under the name Madaco SA, was always rented out. Muñoz’s widow, Carolina Pochetti, admitted in the case file that she collected the rental payments, including for some parking spaces.

The "Cuadernos" investigation began in 2018 when journalistic reports uncovered a network of bribes and corruption related to public works that allegedly benefited officials close to former president Cristina Kirchner.

Through these measures, which represent a further step in the fight against corruption and drug trafficking in Argentina, the national government reaffirms its commitment to transparency and justice by allocating assets obtained through crime for public use.
