Guillermo Francos met with business leaders from the Argentine Business Association (AEA)
The Chief of the Cabinet of Ministers held a meeting yesterday with the board members of the Argentine Business Association. The business leaders present highlighted the alignments with the contents of the May Pact.
The Chief of Staff, Guillermo Francos, participated in a meeting with the board members of the Argentine Business Association (AEA).
"We had an excellent meeting with the business leaders of AEA, where we discussed the benefits that the laws passed by the National Congress—the Bases Law and the fiscal package—will bring, and we talked about the content of the May Pact," Francos highlighted.
"We exchanged ideas on how to approach the future following the passage of these laws, and on the need to generate investments and boost economic activity," concluded the Chief of Staff.
The business leaders present highlighted the alignments with the contents of the May Pact regarding the inviolability of private property, fiscal balance, reduction of public spending, reduction of high tax pressure, the need to advance in a pension reform, an update of labor laws, and the importance of education. They emphasized the significance of a new design in the tax revenue-sharing model and the need for Argentina to participate more actively in the global market.
Representing AEA were: Jaime Campos, Luis A. Pagani, Paolo Rocca, Héctor Magnetto, Sebastián Bagó, Federico Braun, Alberto Hojman, Eduardo Elsztain, Marcelo Argüelles, Claudia Álvarez Argüelles, Martín Brandi, Alejandro Butti, Eduardo Costantini, Claudio Cunha, Ignacio Lartirigoyen, Amadeo Vázquez, Pierpaolo Barbieri, Aldo B. Roggio, and Juan Iramain.
AEA was founded with the objective of promoting the economic and social development of Argentina from a private business perspective, with special emphasis on strengthening the necessary institutions for this purpose. The members of the Association lead companies that collectively employ 240,000 people.
