Decree 201/2025 of 18 March 2025 appointed Eduardo Montamat as the new president of the National Commission for the Defence of Competition (CNDC), replacing Alexis Pirchio, who resigned on 14 March this year.
The authority of the CNDC is now composed of a president and three members. The economist Florencia Bogo and the lawyer Lucas Trevisani Vespa, who were appointed by Decree 100/2024 on 30 January 2024, and the lawyer María Paula Molina, appointed on 25 April 2024, by Decree 363/2024, continue in office.
Eduardo Montamat is a lawyer and holds a PhD in Law and Social Sciences from the National University of Córdoba. He is a Professor of Economics and Finance at the National University of Córdoba and at the National University of Chilecito. He was Head of Lawyers of the CNDC and commissioner between 1999 and 2003, and has served as a commissioner of the CNDC since his appointment in January 2024 until now, when he becomes chairman of the National Commission.
